Principal | Principal Emeritus
As Principal and COO, Mike Hellinghausen is responsible for the financial and operational management of OMNIPLAN. Mike began his career in 1979 and became an architect in 1983. After joining OMNIPLAN, he initially served as a project architect and project manager. Since assuming his current role in 1999, he has managed the operational and financial aspects of the firm, while developing and implementing programs to promote sound business practices and enhance staff performance.
Over the decades, Mike has successfully completed numerous architectural projects. As a staff architect for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, he managed numerous projects on the Lubbock HSC campus, as well as a new clinic on the Amarillo HSC campus. While at Centerbrook Architects, in Essex, Connecticut, he served as project architect for the Wriston Art Building at Lawrence University, and for an expansion of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. At OMNIPLAN, he has served as project manager and principal-in-charge on a number of institutional and office building projects.
Mike is often a speaker and presenter on the subjects of firm management and financial wisdom, and writes an occasional blog post on these topics at From Blueprints to Greenbacks. He was the 2019 President of the Texas Society of Architects. He and his wife Linda live in East Dallas and have three children. Mike is an avid cyclist and reader.
