The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk New Orleans, Louisiana

Reinventing the Outlet Experience

OMNIPLAN worked closely with the Howard Hughes Corporation to transform the existing Riverwalk Marketplace into an outlet experience unlike any other.

A Much-Needed Revitalization to a Shopping Destination

The Riverwalk Mall had not been updated in any significant way since its grand opening in 1986, implying it needed a major update and introduction into the 21st century.

Transforming the Riverwalk Marketplace

OMNIPLAN worked closely with The Howard Hughes Corporation to transform and reposition the existing Riverwalk Marketplace into an outlet experience unlike any other: The Outlet Collection Riverwalk. The project includes an expansion of 50,000 square feet and an extensive renovation to the existing 200,000 square feet.

A Unique Setting

Located in the heart of New Orleans, The Outlet Collection Riverwalk is the nation’s first upscale outlet center in a downtown setting. Featuring more than 75 retailers and restaurants on the bank of the Mississippi River, The Outlet Collection Riverwalk offers shoppers and diners a unique experience.

Tennants with Purpose

Tenants include national high-end retailers as well as local tenants that have been with Riverwalk for several years and have historic value to the property. Major tenants include Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio, Coach, Kenneth Cole, Tommy Bahama and Guess. Many of the listed retail establishments will be the first location in Louisiana, New Orleans and the Gulf region for their respective brands.

Upgrading the Retail Sector

A market that has long been under-served in the retail sector, New Orleans has approximately 30 percent less square feet of retail per capita than the national average. Additionally, the mall has not been updated in any significant way by previous owners since its grand opening in 1986, making this a much-needed revitalization.
