Chemistry Building
The University of North Texas Chemistry Building not only needed to be practical and convenient for existing users; it also needed to reflect the school's dedication to scientific research and innovation. Omniplan began by using the steeply sloping site to the school's advantage, providing 'front-door' pedestrian access at two different levels of this three-story building, a second-floor entrance designed for visitors, and a convenient ground-floor entrance on an adjacent side for students entering from the interior of the campus. Inside, Omniplan crafted the interior architecture to highlight a dramatic faculty-designed model of the periodic table. And outside, on the west elevation, the Omniplan design subtly repeats this theme in brick relief. The result is an aesthetically pleasing space that honors achievement and fosters inspiration.
